The Conference Board Economics Watch® European View

During 2018, the European economy continued to grow beyond its long-term potential but below the strong momentum of the second half of 2017. Three countries emerged recently as red flags: the UK, Germany, and Italy. The Italian economy is structurally weak. In the UK, the political uncertainty around Brexit does not bode well amid challenges already created by a maturing business cycle.
